What drop of thought do you add to your bucket of life?

As the old saying goes, “Rome wasn’t built in a day.”

As is frequently stated, drop by drop, the bucket of water gets filled up. In a similar manner, drop by drop, the bucket of life is filled. It all depends upon you just what drops you are putting in. The more your bucket is filled up with the drops ðŸ’§ of joy, tranquility, contentment, love, forgiveness, the more fulfilling your existence will be.

It’s totally your choice what you would like to add to your bucket of life. Take some time to consider if you truly want that particular drop in there. For example, if you’re ruminating about someone and thinking negative sentiments, like ‘they don’t know how to communicate’ or ‘they do things to me to be sly,’ it’s important to remember that such thoughts of criticism don’t always need to be brought into your bucket.

Be conscious of what you’re doing, because without your knowledge, you are slowly building a harmful stockpile of criticism. Even when the other person isn’t in the right, tell yourself in a friendly tone, “It’s alright, even though she said that. She’ll change and come around for me, I know that’s not her real self. In truth, she is really lovely. Things happen sometimes and it’s okay if I forgive her.” You are not doing a favour to her by saying that. Instead you are doing a favour to yourself by adding drops of care, love, forgiveness in your bucket of life, only to make your life peaceful, productive and more sensible.

Let’s take an another example, you attended a wedding and caught a glimpse of a gorgeous diamond ring given to a friend of yours by her husband. You complain about it to your own partner about it by saying something like, “Hmm, why don’t you ever buy me gifts like that?!”. Or, you could become jealous by your friend’s good fortune and feel envious by the loving relationship they have.

Be mindful that when these thoughts come to mind, they might lead to envy and resentment. Instead of focusing on the comparison and complaint, give yourself an achievable goal to strive towards. Say to yourself, “I will have a beautiful diamond ring, even more beautiful than hers, and soon I will have the joy of wearing it on my finger. I am confident it will come to pass, even though I’m not quite sure how it will happen!”

If you are giving off negative vibes towards the luxury that someone else possesses, it can actually have a negative impact on your subconscious, making it harder for you to acquire luxurious material goods. However, to attract more wealth, it’s important to embrace the notion of luxury and show it love – both your own and that of another. This is how our subconscious is impacted by our thoughts and emotions.

As the “Bhagavad Gita” teaches, your thoughts carry energy and can shape your life. Having good thoughts attract good things, while having bad thoughts can lead to some unfortunate outcomes. When we hold certain beliefs strongly, either good or bad, these thoughts are the key drivers of what happens to us in the end.
