Now is the peak time to take a moment to pause and look within yourself, especially when there is so much noise out there.
No wonder this noise is too strong to overlook. We are all part of this society where we meet people with different opinion. When we express our disagreement with someone else’s opinion, they too are thinking the same of ours. There are often contradictions and inconsistencies in thoughts. Surprisingly, nobody is 100% right or wrong.
Life has definitely become something of a race in recent years. Flip back the calendar just a decade, and you’d see that we had perhaps a little less, but arguably a much greater sense of serenity. Nowadays, it seems like even with plenty, we’re still unable to find a moment’s peace.
Why is this the case? I guess, that’s why we refer to it as “KALYUG”. I suppose that with the passing of time, external forces can become so strong, that if we don’t put in any effort to find inner peace, then we may become overwhelmed by the outer noise, which would throw us off balance.
Without question, the coming decade is growing ever more tense and anxious. To be at peace with yourself, it is essential to start tending to your mental garden with a positive frame of mind.
Start reading books, if you don’t feel like reading still read it. Read any topic that help you bring closer to your self worth. Start reading from one page first. I bet, you will end up reading 100 inspirational thoughts, 1000 inspirational biographies, and unlimited motivational titles.
Why am I putting more of an emphasis on reading than on listening?
Reading and listening are undeniably valuable when it comes to learning and expanding one’s awareness. Both offer us keen insight and appreciation. With that being said, if you find yourself in a stressed or overwhelmed state of mind and have difficulty keeping your thoughts focused, turning to reading should be your top priority.
When perusing the text word by word, we engage our brain. As readers, we are active participants. Listening, though, doesn’t give us this option – we become passive listeners instead. We all know the phrase, “it’s good to be a good listener”. Being able to listen calmly and attentively is a desirable trait for anyone. There’s no doubting that having the ability to be a good listener requires inner tranquillity.
But today I’m giving more attention to being in a situation where you’re not in control of your own mind, and in cases like this, reading is usually much more helpful than simply listening.
Reading can be immensely beneficial to the mind, allowing you to gain clarity of thought and a sense of purpose. If you have the opportunity, try to read aloud – your reading experience will become all the more powerful! Moreover, select a reading material that adds to your own self-esteem and sense of worth. Combining the power of reading and motivation can be truly awe-inspiring and bring forth a deeper understanding that cannot be expressed in words.
Science explains, “Reading for as little as 6 minutes can reduce stress levels by 60%”.
